The 2022 Census will help each one of us to better understand Brazil, our states and especially our municipalities.

The 2022 Census results will show the Brazilian reality, providing a picture of Brazil at a certain period. Data will be used in programs and projects that will contribute to:

1. monitor population's growth, geographic distribution and evolution of characteristics in time;
2. identify priorities for investment in health, education, housing, transportation, electricity, children, youth and elderly care;
3. select areas that need incentive to economic growth and social development;
4. provide references for population projections on whose grounds political representations are defined in the country, with indication of the number of federal, state deputies and state and municipal representatives; and
5. provide information for the revenue sharing allocated by the Federal Court of Audit in State and Municipal Sharing Funds.

It is not, however, just the government that benefits from the Population Census. Society can also make use of its results:

1. selecting proper places for plants, supermarkets, shopping malls, schools, day care centers, movie theaters, restaurants, stores;
2. analyzing the profile of the Brazilian labor force - a fundamental tool for labor unions, professional associations and class entities;
3. analyzing the social, demographic and economic profile of the population and its 2010-2022 evolution; and
4. claiming for more municipal or state attention to specific problems, as expansion of the water and sewage system, telecommunication services, Internet access, etc.

The applicability of the results of a Population Census can be countless.  Help us take a picture of the Brazilian population as accurate as possible in 2022. Many public and private investments depend on your participation.
