Census Planning and Follow-up Meetings

Census Planning and Follow-up Meetings aim at providing the participation of the local community, adding transparency to the Population Census operation in the municipality and at searching, together with the society, support and partnerships to enable the census activities.

Their major assignments are:

  • Assess the maps for statistical purposes produced by the IBGE to guide the field teams and the release of the results;
  • Foster the dissemination of the Population Census within the community; and
  • Help to install data collection units, providing the required infrastructure to collect the data and guide the teams in rural areas.

Chaired by IBGE representatives, these meetings include local authorities (of the Executive, Legislative and Judiciary powers), as well as representatives of associations, unions, community leaders, universities, enterprises and other segments that might somehow support the census operation in the municipality.
