State Unit of Mato Grosso meets City Hall of Várzea Grande to support the 2020 Census

Millane Chaves, head of the IBGE´s State Unit of Mato Grosso (UE-MT), took her team to the City Hall of Várzea Grande, on October 7, to strengthen their relationships in the 1st Planning and Follow Up Meeting of the 2020 Census (REPAC). Mayor Lucimar Sacre de Campos, as well as representatives from several departments, like Planning, Government, Education and Strategic Matters, and a municipal representative were present.
The IBGE reinforced the importance to maintain the partnerships with the Municipal Administration, by training servants and sending some material to municipal schools. The IBGE also dealt with the existence of two seats there for the position of Sub-area Census Coordinator (CCS), paying a salary of R$3,100 and requiring secondary education. More than 200 new opportunities will still be open for enumerators.
Millane Chaves asked the support of the city hall in the dissemination, aiming at strengthening the 2020 Census brand, as well as in the installation of data collection stations in Várzea Grande. It is expected that nearly 85 thousand households in the municipality will be visited between August and October next year, when data will be collected for the Census.
In her speech, the head of the Unit highlighted that the IBGE will release the results of the Census of Agriculture by the end of this month, which should bring important data to the city. As one of the major objectives of the meeting, the cartographic mesh was presented and boundaries were checked.
This meeting concluded the first REPACs in the two largest municipalities of the metropolitan area of Cuiabá River Valley, Várzea Grande and Cuiabá.
