SES-MT carries out institutional event to show 2022 Census results currently released for Mato Grosso and internal meeting with officers in the Oct 30-Nov 1 period

On October 31, 2023, the IBGE Superintendence in Mato Grosso carried out a public event to show the results of the 2022 Census currently available to the entire society. The event gathered managers and representatives from the federal, state and municipal spheres, as well as from the Judiciary, academia, productive sector, quilombola communities, partners and others. Besides being an institutional event to release the first results, it was an important celebration moment for the entire team of IBGE-MT, which was delivering the product of the decade to the society.
It was an afternoon of reflections and an invitation to the involvement in the statistical data for the state of Mato Grosso. The event was held in the auditorium of the National Service for Industrial Training (SENAI) Várzea Grande, with the presence of officers of branches in the interior of the state and headquarters of SES-MT, as well as of external guests. Millane Chaves, the IBGE Superintendent in Mato Grosso, hosted the event, together with representatives of the Mato Grosso administration, Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services, SENAI-MT, Federal University of Mato Grosso (UFMT) and Legislative Assembly of the State of Mato Grosso.
Census analyst Patrícia Andrade presented the data concerning population, households, age and sex, including figures of municipalities that stood out in Mato Grosso, and also explained the objective of the 2022 Population Census, the methodology and the challenges during data collection. Then the Governmental Manager, writer and university professor Vinícius de Carvalho, the President of the Agency for Regulation of Public Services of the State of Mato Grosso, university professor Luis Alberto Nespolo, and the Deputy-Secretary of Planning and Management of Public Policies of the State of Mato Grosso, Sandro Luís Brandão, were invited to reflect on the data.
Taking the opportunity, Pedro Nessi, head of Agricultural Surveys, spoke about the IBGE´s agricultural surveys, and Pedro Spoladore, head of the branch of Sorriso, talked about Monitoring Land Use and Cover - 2017 Census of Agriculture - Family Farming.
More than 160 persons participated in the event. Among them, representatives from the administration of Cuiabá, Várzea Grande, Rondonópolis, Association of Municipalities of Mato Grosso (AMM), Federation of Industries of the State of Mato Grosso (FIEMT), Brazilian Intelligence Agency (ABIN), Federation of Associations of Neighborhood Residents of Mato Grosso (FEMAB), Union of Condominiums of Mato Grosso (SINDSCOND), University of Cuiabá (UNIC), National Indigenous Foundation (FUNAI), Cuiabá city counselors, leaders of quilombola communities and Brazilian Institute of Environment and Renewable Natural Resources (IBAMA).
The band of the Fire Department brightened the ceremony, playing the Brazilian National Anthem and other songs. Also present were members of the Brazilian Mail, Caixa Econômica, National Land Transport Agency (ANTT), Fire Department, Military Police, Brazilian Navy, Federal Police, Civil Defense, National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel), Association of Soybean Producers of Mato Grosso (APROSOJA), Institute of Urban Development and Planning (IPDU), Regional Accounting Council (CRC), Store Owners Chamber (CDL) and entrepreneurs.
Members of secretariats participated as well: Municipal Secretariat of Social Assistance of Human Rights and Persons with Disability, Municipal Secretariat of Agriculture and Labor, Union Regional Controller in Mato Grosso, Secretariat of Planning of the State of Mato Grosso, State Secretariat of Economic Development, State Secretariat of Public Security, Secretariat of Finance of Mato Grosso and State Secretariat of Environment of Mato Grosso.
The event took the IBGE closer to the society, signaling the commitment of effectively meeting its institutional mission, as well as it was part of the final meeting to assess the Population Census by the IBGE teams in Mato Grosso that participated in the activities with the Superintendence, Census coordinations and sector heads in the period from October 30 to November 1, 2023 in Cuiabá.
