On Monday morning (21), the IBGE State Superintendence in Tocantins(SES-TO) disseminated the 2022 Population Census at the Monsenhor Pedro Pereira Piagem Municipal School, in Palmas. The presentation was held during the civic act that the school promotes every Monday, and aimed at creating awareness in the students and at encouraging them to disseminate the importance of the survey to their parents.

Yana Carvalho, the Census Coordinator in Palmas, and Wendy Almeida Becker, a Communication advisor, presented the work and the IBGE products, highlighting the census survey in the field. They distributed informative material and cleared doubts of the students. “They interacted, asked many questions and we distributed a dissemination material in a message format for them to deliver to their parents. So, the result was quite positive,” assessed the journalist.

The idea of producing an informative material in a message format for parents was of Giovanna Ferreira Lima, the Area Coordinator of Palmas II, which encompasses 15 municipalities. SES-TO believes that this dissemination will help the survey and remains distributing these messages in schools, mainly in the rural area and areas where the enumerators face more difficulties.

Dissemination in schools

This is not the first action of the IBGE in schools of the capital. Invited by the Coordinator of Human Sciences of the Secondary School Center of Taquaralto, Isadora Rossatto, the superintendent in Tocantins, Paulo Ricardo Amaral, spoke to students of that institution. At that time, young students could know more about the IBGE´s biggest survey and also be the bridge between the IBGE and their parents.
