Lucas Menezes de Souza Dionizio is only 19 years old, but as he is very communicative, he has been standing out in Tocantins as the enumerator with the largest number of questionnaires collected. He works in Araguaína, the second largest city in the state, and said that before going straight to the Census questions, he tries to gain the respondent's trust.

“To win over a person, beforehand I try to understand if they know about the IBGE and if they at least have an idea of what the Census is. Then, I try to explain to the person how simple and important  the survey is. While I explain it, I introduce some small talk to entertain them and earn their trust” he revealed.

For Lucas, the main difficulty in collecting data is people's resistance to the IBGE and, many times, disregard for the Census “which is extremely important”. The enumerator decided to work at the Institute because, according to him, it is a serious institution and also because he identifies with the task. “I like talking to people, talking and walking,” he said.

Lucas is a technician in Biotechnology, but he does not work in the area. Currently, he studies Chemistry at the Federal University of Northern Tocantins (UFNT). He works from 9 am to 5 pm, usually on weekdays, but occasionally he works on weekends and holidays. Up to  November 4, he had filled out 1,300 Census questionnaires.
