Ceará accomplished more than 90% of Repacs in last quarter of 2021

Ceará stepped up the first phase of the 2022 Census Planning and Monitoring Meetings (Repacs). Of the 184 scheduled meetings, 170 of them were carried out in only one quarter. As a result, the IBGE reached nearly 93% of the municipalities in Ceará in the months of October, November and December 2021.

The first round of the Repacs had already been accomplished in 2020. As the Census was postponed to 2022, they needed to be repeated. Nevertheless, Ceará did not have any difficulty to resume the meetings, having the teams in all the areas and sub-areas quickly mobilized for the operation. 

Sixty municipalities carried out Repacs in October

Right in the first month, Ceará promoted 60 Repacs, headquarted in the following municipalities: Paracuru, Milagres, Abaiara, Ipu, Irauçuba, Porteiras, Granjeiro, Uruburetama, Ipueiras, Itapajé, Graça, Pires Ferreira, Jardim, Jaguaretama, Hidrolândia, Cruz, Jaguaribara, Tejuçuoca, Varjota, Pindoretama, Pereiro, Aurora, Missão Velha, Pacoti, Groaíras, Ubajara, São Luís do Curu, Uruoca, Barbalha, Iracema, Cariré, Carnaubal, Lavras da Mangabeira, Tianguá, Caucaia, Caririaçu, Reriutaba, Santana do Cariri, Farias Brito, Guaiúba, Penaforte, Marco, Crato, Senador Sá, Nova Olinda, Arneiroz, Ibiapina, Ereré, Martinópole, Brejo Santo, Croatá, Mauriti, Juazeiro do Norte, Morrinhos, Tururu, Nova Russas, Viçosa do Ceará, Barro, Tamboril and Jati.

According to João Carlos Peixoto, the Census Sub-area Coordinator (CCS), the meeting carried out in Cruz on October 10 approached the territorial base of the municipality and the changes in the borders with neighbor localities, as well as information on data collection and on the census team. Representatives of four secretariats, as well as the office´s head, a press advisor and a city counselor were present.

On October 26, the Repac in Arneiroz was carried out, which counted with the presence of four secretaries, as well as representatives of the City Hall, City Council and the Union of Rural Workers. According to CCS Regina Umbelina, a partnership to disseminate the selection processes of the IBGE and the accomplishment of the 2022 Census was established in the meeting.

More 82 Repacs only in November

November was the most productive period for Ceará: 82 Repacs were accomplished. Some sub-areas were completely covered that month. It was the case of the sub-area of Quixeramobim, where meeting were carried out in the cities of Milhã, Pedra Branca, Senador Pompeu, Deputado Irapuan Pinheiro and Quixeramobim itself. According to CCS Hugo Deleon Monteiro, partnerships were established in all these Repacs, concerning the dissemination of the PSSs, infrastructure support (venue, equipment, etc.), training and logistic support to carry out the data collection.

Acaraú, Jijoca de Jericoacoara and Itarema, all of them in the same sub-area (Acaraú), benefited from Repacs in November. According to CCS João Carlos Peixoto, the meetings approached information on data collection, IBGE methodology and census team, as well as they looked for partnerships to disseminate IBGEeduca, the PSSs and the 2022 Census itself.

Also in the same month, Aiuaba and two more municipalities within its sub-area hosted Repacs: Antonina do Norte and Catarina. According to CCS Regina Umbelina, representatives of the city halls, secretariats and municipal councils were present in the meetings, as well as other local leaders, who were requested to support the census operation.

Caridade, Itatira, Paramoti and Canindé, which belong to the sub-area of Canindé, had their Repacs also in November. According to the Area Coordinator Carlos Nauber Araújo, these meetings allowed to clear doubts of the participants, as well as to emphasize the importance of the Census and the cooperation for the success of the operation.

The sub-area of Quixadá was also included, with meetings in Banabuiú, Choró, Ibaretama, Ibicuitinga and Solonópole. Conducted by CSS Monique Machado Martins, the Repacs of that region dealt with Census subjects and established partnerships to support and disseminate it.

The following municipalities also hosted Repacs in November: Tauá, Altaneira, Ararendá, Pacujá, Frecheirinha, Camocim, Sobral, Umari, Forquilha, Novo Oriente, Guaraciaba do Norte, São Gonçalo do Amarante, Independência, Barroquinha, Moraújo, Granja, Ipaumirim, Miraíma, Tarrafas, Assaré, Alcântara, Mucambo, Ipaporanga, Quiterianópolis, São Benedito, Trairi, Chaval, Bela Cruz, Monsenhor Tabosa, Catunda, Coreaú, Massapê, Santana do Acaraú, Umirim, Itapipoca, Parambu, Salitre, Poranga, Jaguaribe, Campos Sales, Fortim, Acopiara, Itaiçaba, Orós, Araripe, Aracoiaba, Palhano, Itapiúna, Potengi, Meruoca, Baixio, Quixelô, Aratuba, Crateús, Barreira, Capistrano, Ocara, Redenção, Alcântaras, Cariús, Cedro, Saboeiro and Várzea Alegre.

To close 2021, more 28 Repacs were organized in December in Ceará. It was time for the municipalities of Beberibe, Mulungu, Mombaça, Santa Quitéria, Quixadá, Piquet Carneiro, Guaramiranga, Amontada, Boa Viagem, Palmácia, Madalena, Baturité, Chorozinho, Icapuí, Aquiraz, Acarape, Jaguaruana, Pacatuba, Maracanaú, Horizonte, Itaitinga, Pacajus, Aracati, Icó, Cascavel, Fortaleza, Iguatu and Jucás.

The meeting in Quixadá, led by CCS Monique Machado Martins, was held on December 2 at the Union of Rural Workers, where commitments like support and dissemination of the Census and selection processes were established.

The Repac in Santa Quitéria was accomplished on the same day. According to information from the Area Coordinator Carlos Nauber Araújo, the meeting dealt with issues related to the preparation for the Census, like the accomplishment of selection processes and their dissemination, training of teams that will work in the Census and support for the establishing of data collection units.

Once finished the meetings in December, Ceará hit a total of 170 Repacs, remaining only 14 for 2022. According to the State Coordinator of Repacs in Ceará, Vanessa Vasconcelos, the positive balance resulted from the commitment with deadlines by the coordinators.
