Eduardo Rios Neto, President of the IBGE, will participate in the Formal Sitting of the XXIII March to Brasília on Behalf of the Municipalities, where he will talk about the 2022 Population Census. The March will be on April 25-28 at the International Convention Center of Brazil (CICB), in the Federal District. It will gather public managers of the entire country to discuss issues that directly influence the daily routine of the municipalities and their administrations. Rios Neto received - and accepted - an official invitation from the President of the National Confederation of Municipalities (CNM), Paulo Ziulkoski.

This is another important step towards the 2022 Census. In August 2021, the President of the IBGE met for the first time the President of the CNM to discuss the census operation. Rios Neto and Ziulkoski committed themselves to work together to guarantee the largest coverage with the best quality. The President of the IBGE requested the support of city administrations, especially in terms of granting spaces to establish data collection units, transportation and dissemination of the Census. The President of the CNM ensured that the IBGE teams will count with the required efforts, not only in the municipalities, but also in Brasília - now with the March.

The two presidents agreed to strengthen even more the partnerships between the IBGE and the CNM. One of the strengths of this institutional relationship is the CNM Qualifies Seminar, which had already trained more than 800 participants*. According to the program, municipal agents watch presentations of IBGE professionals, which provide contents aimed at municipal servants and managers. The course, in the Distance Learning format, approaches the major aspects of the Population Census, the National Address File for Statistical Purposes (CNEFE) and other important census subjects.
