In another meeting with representatives of the IBGE´s State Branch in Pará (UE-PA) in the morning of March 3, the Executive Commission of the Cocoa Cropping Plan (CEPLAC), through the Regional Superintendence of the Development of the Cocoa Cropping in the States of Pará and Amazonas (SUPAM), confirmed the granting of spaces to establish data collection units in four municipalities in the interior of the state.

The meeting was the follow up of a meeting held on February 22. At that time, representatives of UE Pará had the opportunity to resume what CEPLAC had guaranteed for the then 2020 Census (postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic)..

Yesterday, March 3, in a new meeting held in the headquarter of SUPAM-CEPLAC in Belém, with the participation of José Raul dos Santos Guimarães, regional superintendent of CEPLAC, and the team comprising servants of the administrative advisory, Brasilino Santos Correa and Luiz Nogueira Costa, the UE Pará received the confirmation that CEPLAC will grant spaces to establish data collection units in the municipalities of Castanhal, Medicilândia, Pacajá and Tucumã, localities in which the partner has local offices and space available to accommodate IBGE teams during the data collection of the 2022 Census.

The head of the UE-PA, Rony Helder Cordeiro, the head of Belém II Branch, Helton Sodré, the manager of Planning and Management, Douglas de Oliveira, the state supervisor of Agricultural Surveys of the UE-PA, Thelmo Dariva and the technician Valéria Cuentro Scortegagna, of the Supervision of Material Resources (SRM), participated in the meeting. “Our technician Valéria Cuentro presented the entire documentation to the CEPLAC representatives. Having analyzed the terms, the paperwork will be signed to make the agreement between the two institutions official. We can say that we left the meeting with the guarantee of four more data collection units,” announced Rony Helder Cordeiro after the meeting.

It is worth reminding that CEPLAC has already worked as an IBGE partner in Pará, in agricultural surveys, in the 2017 Census of Agriculture and in the 2010 Population Census.
