Looking for partnerships to carry out the 2022 Population Census, a team of the UE-PI met the dean of the Federal Institute of Piauí (IFPI), Paulo Borges. At the time, they requested support to disseminate the census operation, as well as room for training. The meeting was held last Tuesday (15).

During the 2022 Population Census, nearly 2.6 thousand enumerators will cover the territory of Piauí, visiting nearly 900 thousand households in 224 municipalities. In the face of this, the head of the UE-PI, Leonardo Passos, highlighted the importance of the partnership between the entities, having in mind the scope of the educational institute. “We understand that the IFPI, with 20 campi in the state, can be a great partner in the Census,” said him.

The dean of the IFPI highlighted the relevance of the census operation and put the institute at the IBGE´s disposal. “The Census is a very important tool as it deals with official data and information about Brazil. Based on the Census, students and servants have the necessary information for our surveys, as well as the government develops public policies on behalf of the society,” reinforced Paulo Borges.

Ranieri Leite, operational coordinator of the Census in Piauí, Roosevelt Pinheiro, head of the Teresina branch, Cibele Barros, sub-area census coordinator of the east zone of Teresina, and Janaína Linhares, public relations of the IFPI, also participated in the meeting.
