The Population Census dress rehearsal in Rondônia, held in Porto Velho, began this Thursday (4) with a joint effort of enumerators, who will cover four enumeration areas with nearly 1,200 households.
According to Jorge Elarrat, operational coordinator of the Population Census, “it is of key importance to carry out the dress rehearsal so that the IBGE can assess the functionality of the equipment and application, at the same time that the population is able to understand the scope of the Population Census and the importance of this information to know the Brazilian reality.”
Hildon Chaves, mayor of Porto Velho, highlights the importance of the Population Census to know the reality of all the Brazilian municipalities. “The Census is a real radiography of our country. It is when we know the amount of people, children, youngsters, elderly people, men, women and how these people live.”
