Also on the same day, Cláudio Stenner, IBGE´s director of Geosciences, and José Renato Braga de Almeida, head of the State Unit of RS, went to Guaíba Radio, in Porto Alegre, to participate in the “Now” program. At the time, they emphasized the importance of the Census to Brazil. Stenner reminded that the survey brings basic and key information to the public policies, at the same time that the population data define the distribution of the Municipal Sharing Fund (FPM). “The dissemination of the Census causes the resources to be well invested,” complemented the servant. The head of the UE-RS, in turn, commented on the importance of the dress rehearsal in the preparation of the census operation next year (since the application of the methodology until the operation of the Data Collection Mobile Devices). “The house-to-house work is fundamental to get to know the reality and the Brazilian needs,” highlighted Almeida.
