The activities of the dress rehearsal of the 2022 Population Census were launched.  In the morning of October 18, Thaianne Costa, coordinator of Training, opened the training introducing the set of activities to be developed along the week.

Then Marcelo Virgínio de Melo, head of the IBGE State Unit of Maranhão, thoroughly explained the aspects of the operation, highlighting the dress rehearsal as an extraordinary opportunity to prepare for the 2022 Population Census.

Demiurgo Lopes Trinta, manager of Surveys, Washington Monteiro Santos, operational coordinator, and João Ricardo, coordinator of dissemination, were also present in the beginning of the training, talking about the challenges to carry out the operation with success.

Gustavo Pereira, technical coordinator, and Wilson Martins, area coordinator, are the two trainers in charge of carrying out the training.

Eighteen sub-area census coordinators (CCSs) are participating in the training to work as enumerators, ACMs and ACSs in the dress rehearsal of the Population Census. The sub-area census coordinator of Dom Pedro, Hévilla Caroline da Silva Alves, stated: “As the Census is the picture of Brazil, it is extremely important to test all the devices available for that moment. With the dress rehearsal, we can anticipate the challenges that we will face in the field in the context that we live today. It is a serious and complex task, whose result will be used to exercise the citizenship.”

In Maranhão, the dress rehearsal of the 2022 Population Census will take place in ten enumeration areas of the municipality of Bacabal (far 240 kilometers from the capital). The participation of Saulo Pires, area coordinator, and Franklin Coutrim, CCS of Bacabal, was key to the dress rehearsal.
