Aiming at strengthening the institutional relations with municipal managers, the Campina Grande Agency and the local Supervision of Information Dissemination (SDI) organized a seminar on IBGE tools and statistics for the city administrations located in the region of Rainha da Borborema.

The event was held online on October 6-7 and counted with 22 participants. Fifteen municipalities sent representatives to the seminar, which mainly served to ask the support for the 2022 Census, as the Operational Coordinator of Population Surveys in the state, Francisco Eugênio, recalled. 

“This event leads local managers to better understand the importance of the work made by the IBGE, thus leading them to cooperate with us in the dissemination and organization of the infrastructure of the Population Census, by granting places for data collection stations and training, for instance,” stated him.

The SDI team in Paraíba, then formed by Jorge Alves, Eurico Barreto and Aline Nascimento, carried out the seminar, aiming at customizing it to the needs and interests of the managers. The highlights of the agenda were: IBGE statistics, mainly the municipal ones; Cities@, IBGEeduca and Synopsis by sector portals; as well as the SIDRA database 

Klênio Figueiredo, head of the Campina Grande Agency, positively assessed the event. “I believe that we fulfilled our goals. The institutional relations were strengthened aiming at the Census and other surveys, and the managers became more skilled to develop public policies, once better informed about the IBGE surveys,” said him.
