The team involved in the dress rehearsal of the 2022 Population Census in Bahia begins next Monday (October 25, 2021) the second training week, as a countdown for the operation.

The dress rehearsal, which will be carried out in the neighborhood of Amaralina, in Salvador, begins next Friday, October 29, with the data collection of the Characteristics of the Surroundings, and will be officially launched on November 4, when nearly 2,000 households will be visited.

Participants of the data collection of the Census dress rehearsal are being trained

All the 14 participants of the group that will work directly in the dress rehearsal have already been trained for 200 hours, in the week of October 18-22. The classes were carried out by Pedro Biscarde, technical coordinator of the Census in Bahia, and by Ronaldo Luz, state coordinator of the National Address File for Statistical Purposes (CNEFE).

The first phase focused on the preparation of the enumerators, who “were trained in the concepts and procedures that will be used in the data collection, like the route in the enumeration area, the application of the questionnaires and the urban survey of the surroundings,” explains Biscarde.

“The training is also key to master the concepts introduced in the Census questions, which deal with a number of subjects, including sensitive themes, like ethnic-racial identification, earnings and religion,” completes Luz.

Last Friday (October 22), the team also talked about dissemination with Mariana Viveiros, coordinator of that area. Besides presenting the pieces prepared by the Coordination of Marketing (COMAR/CDDI) for the dress rehearsal, she explained how the beginning of the data collection will be followed up by the press in Bahia and how the enumerators will be involved in that strategy.

Edmilson Andrade, sub-area coordinator of the Census, will work as an enumerator in the dress rehearsal in Amaralina. He commented on the importance of the training for his work. “It is being fundamental to me, as I am acquiring knowledge and skills, like handling the DMC (mobile data collection device) and carrying out the interviews, which I will use aiming at the success of the data collection and the effectiveness of the work during the operation in 2022.”
