REPAC in Pindoretama consolidates support of the municipality to the 2022 Census Dress Rehearsal in Ceará

On October 13, the State Unit of Ceará carried out a Census Planning and Monitoring Meeting (REPAC) in the city hall of Pindoretama, talking with an audience comprising representatives and secretaries of the municipality about the importance of the Population Census and the dress rehearsal that will take place in the district of Ema in November.
Francisco José Moreira Lopes, head of the UE-CE, opened the event with an overview of the meeting, which provided the contact with the IBGE and with the information produced for planning public policies.
He was followed by Paulo Alexandre, the area coordinator, who explained the objectives and actions of a REPAC, aiming at obtaining the support of the municipalities to the census infrastructure, as well as at providing visibility and transparency to the census actions. He also introduced IBGE Educa, a project in partnership with schools and education departments of the municipalities to disseminate the Census in the school environment and the material to work in the classroom. Gabriela Maria, the secretary of Education of Pindoretama, welcomed the partnership with the IBGE in the contribution to the school life of the students.
Rodrigo Miguel, the sub-area census coordinator, talked about the Census structure, data collection units, support to the dissemination of selection processes, partnerships with administrator associations and mechanisms of identification of the agents in charge of the data collection.
The Census dress rehearsal in Pindoretama, which will take place from November 3 onwards in the district of Ema, was presented, together with the survey of the surroundings and urban structure, assessment of systems and applications, and the types of data collection face-to-face, through telephone and through the Internet.
Closing the presentations, Francisco Moreira Lopes thanked the participation of the local authorities in the event, highlighted once again the importance of the Census, partnerships and the entire local community to raise these data. Representing the mayor, Cristiano do Nascimento, head of the office, highlighted the importance of the Census in the municipality for the planning, population control and improvement in the provision of services. He also offered logistics support to the dissemination of the 2022 Census.
