As part of the preparation of the Dress Rehearsal of the 2022 Census, the IBGE made a presentation last Thursday (14) to workers of two schools in the municipality of Viamão. Ten professionals were present, among teachers, directors and pedagogical coordinators of the Antônio de Souza Neto - which is located in the neighborhood of Jardim Estalagem, headquarter of the dress rehearsal - and Canada schools, close to that neighborhood. The meeting also counted with the presence of a local community leader.

At the time, Sônia Zanotto, supervisor of Information Dissemination of the UE-RS, introduced the dress rehearsal and IBGE Educa, as well as other tools, like the IBGE Cities. Also present in the event, Antonio Da Matta, area coordinator of Viamão, talked about the required support of the community and the importance of the Census for the design of public policies, Municipal Sharing Fund and other subjects.

“I usually use IBGE data in the geography classes, in subjects like regionalization and state capitals. I always highlight the importance of the IBGE,” reported professor Ezequiel Gonçalves, from Antônio de Souza Neto school. The education professionals also expressed their doubts on the dress rehearsal, like the average duration of the questionnaire, the approach of enumerators in the midst of the pandemic and the identification of enumerators. The IBGE team provided the clarifications.
