On Monday, October 7, Leonardo Santana, head of the UE/PI, met the Governor of the State of Piauí, Wellington Dias, in order to establish a partnership to support the activities that will be implemented in the 2020 Population Census. Leonardo Santana showed the governor figures for Piauí from previous censuses, as well as an overview of all the activities that the IBGE will have to implement to carry out the 2020 Census. Governor Dias highlighted the great importance of the censuses to implement a number of public policies, reason why he asked Secretary Merlong Solano, from the State Secretariat of Administration and Social Security, and Coordinator Allisson Bacelar, from the Coordination of State Communication, to support the 2020 Census.

Governor Dias offered support to the IBGE by assigning public properties to install data collection stations, accessing the Internet to transmit the collected data, disseminating the census operations through the Coordination of Communication, as well as by providing security in localities where the enumerators face difficulties to access the housing units.
