The IBGE´s State Unit of Roraima (UE-RR) completed, on October 27, all the Planning and Follow-up Meetings of the 2020 Population Census (REPACs) in the state. Each meeting counted with the participation of the mayor, secretaries, president of the City Council and community leaders.

In all the municipalities in Roraima, local authorities raised awareness of the IBGE operation and confirmed that they will grant a place with the required infrastructure to install a data collection station. They will also support the dissemination of the 2020 Census, as well as the selection processes.

In addition, several city administrations will provided a logistical support, like, for example, granting vehicles to the Census next year.

The meetings explained to local representatives each phase of the operation, the personnel structure, the dates of the selection processes, the ways of data collection and the maps with their respective municipal borders.

It highlighted the importance of the IBGEeduca project, as a way to disseminate the work of the IBGE through children and teenagers, and raising awareness of the population to host the enumerators and answer the survey.

All the questions and concerns related to the work of the Census in the municipalities were clarified.

The REPACs in Roraima were carried out by the team of coordinators: Amâncio Guerra Raposo Júnior (operational coordinator), Jose Nagib da Silva Lima (technical coordinator), Ivo Santos de Franca (area coordinator), Angela Patrícia Lima de Souza (area coordinator) and Liezer Hernandez Pino (REPAC coordinator).

All the meetings followed the guidelines provided by the Operational Coordination of the Censuses (COC). The UE-RR thanks that coordination for the support, especially Maria Vilma Salles Garcia.
